My Journey
After growing up in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan, I attended college at the University of Michigan. I was drawn to a major in psychology because of my curiosity about people and my desire to find a career that would allow me to have a positive impact on others. During this time, I also was heavily involved with the community service organization Circle K, eventually becoming Club President.
Through my peers in school, I also learned about the field of user experience, and quickly became interested in what felt like the perfect application of my passion for people. After finishing my Bachelor’s degree, I earned my Master’s degree at the University of Michigan School of Information with a specialization in User Experience Research & Design. In between my first and second year, I was extremely lucky to land a User Research internship at Sonos that resulted in a full-time return offer.
During my experience at Sonos as a full-time employee, I worked on a variety of projects in the home audio space. I collaborated with different types of stakeholders, including UX designers, industrial designers, and product managers. My work involved evaluating experiences and also broadening the company’s understanding of users and their needs. Notably, I worked on hardware, software features, and accessibility (which I also presented at Figma Config 2022). I learned so much during my time at Sonos, and I am looking forward to my next opportunity.
Who I am
In my free time, I am an amateur singer-songwriter. Writing songs stretches my creativity and challenges me to think about the best way to tell a story, while also giving me an outlet for my emotions. This has had an incredibly positive impact in every aspect of my life, and I am eternally grateful that I found this part of myself.
Additionally, you can often find me baking cookies for my friends, running outside, and attending fitness classes at my local gym.
